RE: Your geeky news of the day

Hey, folks! There’s been a lot coming out in the cinematic world over the past few days. What I want to try to do is, moving forward, keep you up to date with the latest information that crosses my desk and give you one concise place to view it all. More importantly, give you a place to discuss the news that’s out there. So, with that said, let’s dive in.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider Comes Home…

Great news from Marvel this week coming straight from the horse’s mouth. Spiderman is back in the MCU! The word is that Spidey will be making his debut in an upcoming Marvel film, then entering the fray with his own stand alone film on July 28, 2017. The deal that was struck by these two powerhouse production companies provide a win for the fans (Although I’m sure Sony makes out pretty good in this too). Now what I think this means is that we’ll get to see our spectacular web head show up in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War set to hit theaters next year May 6.

Looks like from reports two names have appeared as actors that are up for the role

What this also means is that a few release dates are changing for Marvel movies as well:

  • Thor: Ragnarök has been moved to November 3, 2017.
  • The Black Panther has been moved to July 6, 2018.
  • Captain Marvel has been moved to November 2, 2018.
  • Inhumans will be moving to July 12, 2019.
  • The Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 are staying the same with May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019, respectively.

Straight Outta Compton Trailer Released!

The trailer for the N.W.A. biopic was released earlier this week. This is a flick I’ve been interested in since the news released that it was in the works. Interesting to note that the role of Ice Cube is being played by his son, Oshea Jackson Jr. The trailer looks great and it will take an interesting look into the group and their music. I’m looking forward to seeing a side of artists that haven’t been available to viewers. Check the trailer below. It’s Red Band, so this one’s not safe for work in the least.

Legend of Zelda Series Is Coming To Netflix..

Looks like the streaming giant, Netflix, is working with Nintendo to develop a live action series based on the epic and monumental and iconic franchise. I’m looking forward to hearing this one unfold. There’s limited news on cast and release, only that it will be “Game of Thrones for a family audience”, but as the news comes in, we’ll keep you updated!

Agent 47 Is Back…

Remember that movie, Hitman, that came out a few years back starring Timothy Olyphant (from the FX show, Justified)? Well they’re giving it another shot with a reboot. This one looks pretty promising. I’ve been waiting for a decent film adapted from a game series and I’m hoping we get that with a few of the options that seem to be coming out. Hitman, is a story about an assassin genetically engineered and enhanced by a secret order. This agent, Agent 47, is charged with the mission to kill the man who started it all. Agent 47 hits theaters August 28, 2015.
