The Wolverine

Went to see the Wolverine over the weekend to celebrate my name day 🙂 Here’s a review for you lovely folks that are still deciding if weather or not to see it.

The Wolverine? Definitely an improvement from the first origins movie, but it’s not the best thing I’ve seen from Marvel (Let’s face it: a standard has been set with the Avengers. You spoiled us rotten Marvel!). Hugh Jackman, however proves how perfect the casting for Logan was. He shines as The Wolverine and makes us believe in this character, his growth, and success.

Rila Fukushima

What I liked most about this movie was the fact that it was a tale of how Wolverine gets over the guilt he feels about Jean from the events of X3 (if you haven’t watched it by now…. seriously??). We really get to see the character of Logan grow in this film. This will be great set up for Days Of Future Past.

Outstanding performances by Rila Fukushima, who plays Yukio, self proclaimed body guard of of Logan/Wolverine;

Will Yun Lee

Will Yun Lee, who plays Harada, leader of the Black Ninja Clan and ex love of Mariko; and Hiroyuki Sanada, who plays Shingen, the jealous and power hungry father of Mariko. These are stars I would have to say look for in the future
(especially Sanada, I’ve always been a fan of his work, and you can catch him again in the up coming film, 47 Ronin), they give amazing performances in the movie and really compliment Jackman well.

Hiroyuki Sanada

Overall, the movie itself as far as story telling could have been better. The actors themselves really made this movie come to life for me. There are still a lot of questions left unanswered, namely, whether or not Logan will get his Adamantium Claws back. However, I still think the movie was an amazing improvement to their first go around with Origins.

Honestly folks, if you’ve seen the first movie, go and give this one a shot you will definitely appreciate the improvements. The shots that were taken were beautiful, some beautifully tragic (i.e. the Bomb dropped at the beginning), but it was still entertaining to watch. Stay after the credits for a great scene that leads up to Days of Future Past.
